Watched a movie called the All Presidents men the other night again. A classic revolving around Bob woodwards breaking of the wire tapping Nixon established in the democratic offices i Watergate buildings. Got me thinking about how much of a sc…andal it all was. These days a scandal like claiming a country has nukes, invading them, then telling everyone they lied isn’t even enough to bring down a government. Which makes me wonder about the poor bastard Bradley Manning. He exposed the US army killing civilians by releasing videos and cables showing what they had done. Nothing got done about it. He’s been in solitary confinement in the states for over a year now, 24 hours a day, with no visitors, tortured and beaten, all to let the world know what was being done was wrong. He’s probs gonna get put away for 30-40 years in solitary confinement in the states. If this is how we treat people prepared to stand up and say “this is wrong”, then who in the future would do it? This is the video he released, among others. Judge for yourselves if he committed a crime. What would you of done?
